On arrival, the reception door was closed and we waited over 10 minutes, even phoning with no answer. We had to ring the doorbell several times until someone came – a bit unsettling after a long journey. Aside from that, everything was fine; the bed and pillows were very comfy. Breakfast wasn’t as varied as elsewhere but met expectations. Two minor niggles: the light switch is between the two beds, so you keep turning it on at night, and a minibar would be a nice addition.”

The colour scheme was cosy yet modern, with new furniture and equipment. Everything was spotless. The breakfast buffet was rich and fresh. Our room at the back had a balcony overlooking greenery. The location works too – not central, but the bus stop is right outside. The only downside was the price, which felt high for a 3-star hotel. Otherwise, everything was genuinely great.”
